Analytical Perspectives in Game Design

The plot processor is a complex piece of software that monitors events in the game world and makes modifications to the events to drive a series of plot lines. The plot processor attempts to steer the game world in a direction by making decisions based on a plot outcome. To do this the processor must analyse an action based on its possible effects on the direction of the plot and make a decision accordingly. For example, The ultimate bad guy would not give a good guy a powerful item because it would adversely effect his chances of conquering the world.
